Troubleshooting
Last updated
Most technical issues on Asterune have quick fixes. This page walks through the common ones. If these steps don't solve it, contact Solarius support with your operating system and a description of what's happening.
Start here: the basics
Before anything else, these quick checks resolve a large share of problems:
- Update the client. Make sure you're on the latest version of the Asterune desktop client β see Downloading Asterune. On Linux, update through Flatpak
- Restart the client. Fully close Asterune and reopen it
- Check your connection. Asterune games are online β confirm you have a stable internet connection
- Restart your computer. It clears up a surprising number of issues
- Check the platform status. If something's affecting Asterune more broadly, it may be a known issue we're already working on
A game won't load or launch
- Make sure your client is up to date
- The first launch of a game may download additional files β give it time to finish
- Confirm you have enough free disk space for the game
- Check that your graphics drivers are up to date
- Try a different game β if others load fine, the issue may be specific to that game, which is made by its creator. You can report a broken game from its page
Connection and lag issues
- Test your internet on another device or app to confirm it's working
- If you're on Wi-Fi, move closer to your router or try a wired connection
- Restart your router
- Temporarily pause large downloads or streams using your bandwidth
- A firewall, VPN, or restricted network (such as a school or workplace) can block Asterune β try a different network if you can
I can't sign in
- Double-check your email and password
- If you've forgotten your password or lost access, see Account recovery
- If you're getting two-factor prompts you can't complete, see Account security and your recovery codes
- Make sure your client is up to date β a very out-of-date client can fail to sign in
Microphone or voice chat problems
- Confirm you've completed phone verification, which is required for voice chat
- Check that the game you're in has voice chat enabled β it's the creator's choice
- Make sure Asterune has permission to use your microphone in your operating system's privacy settings
- Select the correct input device and check push-to-talk settings in the in-game Voice Chat menu (press Escape)
- See Voice chat for full controls
Audio or performance problems
- Lower in-game graphics settings if a game runs slowly β requirements vary by game
- Close other demanding apps to free up memory
- Update your graphics and audio drivers
- Confirm your computer meets the system requirements
Installation problems
- Make sure your operating system is supported β see Downloading Asterune
- Confirm you have enough disk space
- On Linux, make sure Flatpak and Flathub are set up correctly
- Re-download the installer in case the file was incomplete
