Reporting

Reporting is one of the most important tools we have for keeping Asterune safe. If you see something that violates our Community Guidelines, we want to know about it. This page explains how to report from every part of the platform, what happens after you report, and when to involve authorities instead.

Before you report

Reports are taken seriously and reviewed by a real person. Before submitting, it helps to:

  • Make sure what you're reporting actually violates our Community Guidelines β€” reports submitted in bad faith or to harass other users are themselves a violation
  • Choose the most accurate category from the report form, as this helps route your report correctly
  • Include as much detail as you can in the text field

If the situation involves an immediate risk to someone's life or safety, do not wait for a platform report to be reviewed. Contact your local emergency services or relevant authorities first. See When to contact authorities below.

How to report

There is a report option available almost everywhere on Asterune. Every report form includes a category selector, a text field for additional context, and depending on where you're reporting from, the option to attach screenshots.

In-game

To report something that happened inside a game:

  1. Press Escape or click the Asterune icon in the corner of the game window to open the Asterune client menu
  2. Select Report
  3. Choose a category, describe the issue in the text field, and optionally attach screenshots
  4. Submit the report

Chat transcripts: If your report relates to something said in in-game text chat, the reported user's full chat transcript for that session will be reviewed alongside your report.

Voice chat: If your report relates to in-game voice chat, the user's voice transcript for that session will be reviewed. In many cases, our automated systems are able to detect and act on abusive voice chat without a report β€” but submitting one still helps us improve our detection and ensures the incident is on record.

Direct messages

To report a message someone sent you in a DM:

  1. Hover over the message you want to report
  2. Click the three-dot menu (β‹―) that appears
  3. Select Report
  4. Fill out the category and description, then submit

User profile

To report a user based on their profile content, display name, avatar, or bio:

  1. Navigate to the user's profile
  2. Click the red Report button
  3. Fill out the form and submit

Game page

To report a game listing β€” including its title, description, thumbnail, or other metadata:

  1. Navigate to the game's page
  2. Click the red Report button
  3. Fill out the form and submit

Asset page

To report a creator asset β€” such as an avatar item, audio file, or other uploaded content:

  1. Navigate to the asset's page
  2. Click the red Report button
  3. Fill out the form and submit

What happens after you report

Automated screening

All reports pass through our automated systems first. These systems categorise and prioritise incoming reports, filter out duplicates, and in some cases can take immediate protective action β€” for example, automatically muting a user whose voice chat has been detected as abusive.

Reports that are clearly spam β€” for example, mass-reports targeting a user with no substantive detail, or reports that match known bad-faith patterns β€” may be filtered at this stage and not escalated further.

Human review

All reports that are not filtered as spam are ultimately reviewed by a member of our moderation team. No automated system alone makes the final call on account action. A human reads the report, reviews the relevant context (including any attached screenshots or chat transcripts), and makes a moderation decision.

Review times vary depending on report volume and severity. Reports involving serious harm β€” threats, content involving minors, or illegal activity β€” are prioritised.

Outcome notifications

You will receive a notification when the report you submitted has been reviewed and a decision has been made. This confirms that your report was acted on, though we are not able to share the specific action taken against another user's account due to privacy considerations.

Multiple reports for the same incident

Submitting more than one report for the same event will not increase its priority or speed up the review. If you have already reported something, there is no need to resubmit. If you have new information to add β€” such as additional screenshots or a follow-up message from the same user β€” contact us directly at Solarius support and reference your original report.

When to contact authorities

Platform moderation is not a substitute for emergency services or law enforcement. If you encounter something that involves real-world harm or danger, contact the appropriate authorities directly and do not rely solely on a platform report.

You should contact local emergency services or law enforcement if:

  • Someone is expressing immediate intent to harm themselves or others
  • You believe a child is in immediate danger or being exploited
  • You have received a credible threat of real-world violence
  • You have evidence of a serious crime being planned or committed

For urgent safety concerns that are not emergencies but need faster attention than a standard report queue, you can also contact our safety team directly at safety@solarius.me. We monitor this address and prioritise messages that indicate a serious or time-sensitive risk.

Abusing the report system

Submitting false, malicious, or repeated bad-faith reports is a violation of our Community Guidelines and may result in moderation action against your own account. The report system exists to protect the community β€” using it to target users you have a personal dispute with undermines that for everyone.
