Payment methods
Last updated
Whether you're buying Runes or subscribing to Luminary, Asterune makes paying simple and secure. This page covers which payment methods we accept, how to manage them, and what to do if a payment doesn't go through.
How payments are processed
All payments on Asterune are processed securely by Stripe, a globally trusted payment provider. Asterune does not see or store your full card number β Stripe handles your payment details directly. This means your sensitive payment information is protected by Stripe's security infrastructure, not stored on Asterune's servers.
Accepted payment methods
The methods available to you depend on your region, but typically include:
- Credit and debit cards β Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and others
- Apple Pay
- Google Pay
- Other local payment methods supported by Stripe in your country
For the full list of what's available where you live, see Stripe's supported payment methods. The options shown at checkout are the ones available to you.
Currency and pricing
Runes and Luminary are priced in EUR, and any applicable taxes are shown at checkout. If your card is in a different currency, your bank or card provider applies its own conversion rate β Asterune doesn't control that rate. See Purchase history and receipts for where taxes and totals appear on your receipt.
Managing your payment methods
You can add, update, or remove saved payment methods from Settings β Billing. From here you can also see which payment method is used for an active Luminary subscription. If you're updating an expiring card on a subscription, do it before your next renewal date so the renewal isn't interrupted.
When a payment fails
Payments can be declined for all sorts of ordinary reasons β an expired card, insufficient funds, a bank's fraud check, or a method that isn't supported in your region. If a payment fails:
- Double-check the card details and expiry date
- Make sure the method is supported in your country
- Confirm with your bank that they aren't blocking the transaction
- Try an alternative payment method
For a subscription, a failed renewal may be retried automatically. If it can't be collected, your Luminary benefits may pause until payment succeeds. Update your payment method in Settings β Billing to restore it.
Security and unauthorized charges
Because Stripe handles your payment details, your card information is never exposed to Asterune or to creators. Still, you should keep your account secure β see Account security. If you see a charge you don't recognise, see Chargebacks and fraud before disputing it with your bank, as we can often resolve it faster with a direct refund.
Getting help
If you're having trouble adding a payment method or completing a purchase, contact us at Solarius support with the email address on your account and a description of what happens at checkout. Please don't share full card numbers in a support message β we never need them.
