Copyright and the DMCA

Asterune respects intellectual property rights and expects everyone using the platform to do the same. If you believe content on Asterune infringes your copyright, you can ask us to remove it. This page explains how to submit a notice, how a creator can respond, and what happens to repeat infringers.

Before you file

Copyright protects original creative work — art, music, code, writing, and similar. It does not protect ideas, game concepts, or general styles on their own. A notice should only be filed by the rights holder or someone authorised to act on their behalf, and only when you have a good-faith belief that the use isn't authorised by you, your agent, or the law (for example, fair use).

Filing a knowingly false or bad-faith notice can carry legal consequences. If you're unsure whether something infringes your rights, consider seeking legal advice first.

How to report infringement (DMCA notice)

To report content you believe infringes your copyright, submit a notice through Solarius support. To be actionable, your notice should include:

  1. Your contact information — name, email address, and where applicable the company you represent
  2. Identification of the work — a description of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed
  3. Identification of the infringing material — links or enough detail for us to locate the specific game, asset, item, or content on Asterune
  4. A good-faith statement that you believe the use isn't authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them
  6. Your signature — a physical or electronic signature

Providing complete information helps us act quickly. Incomplete notices may need follow-up before we can act.

What happens after a valid notice

When we receive a valid notice, we may remove or disable access to the reported content and notify the creator who posted it. We'll generally pass your notice (including the details in it) to that creator so they understand why their content was actioned and can respond with a counter-notice if they believe the removal was a mistake.

Counter-notices

If you're a creator and your content was removed in response to a copyright notice you believe was mistaken or misidentified, you may submit a counter-notice through Solarius support. A counter-notice should include:

  1. Your contact information
  2. Identification of the removed content and where it appeared
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the content was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification
  4. Your consent to the appropriate legal jurisdiction for resolving the dispute
  5. Your signature

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may forward it to the party who filed the original notice. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, the content may be restored unless the original claimant pursues the matter further.

Repeat infringers

Accounts that repeatedly infringe the intellectual property rights of others may have their content removed and their accounts suspended or terminated, in line with our Terms of Service and applicable law.
