Developer Exchange

The Developer Exchange is Asterune's program that allows eligible creators to convert Runes they have earned through their games and content into real-world currency. This page covers how the exchange rate works, what you need to be eligible, how payouts are processed, and what to expect from the compliance requirements.

How it works#

When players spend Runes in your game or on your content, those Runes accumulate in your creator balance. Through the Developer Exchange, you can convert that earned balance into a cash payout at a fixed rate.

The exchange rate is $0.0020 USD per earned Rune, which works out to approximately $100 USD per 50,000 Runes. The minimum payout threshold is 50,000 Runes, meaning your eligible earned balance must reach or exceed that amount before you can submit a withdrawal request.

There is no maximum on a single payout request. Payouts are limited to one request per calendar month — if a request is already in progress or was approved within the current month, you will not be able to submit another until the following month.

Earned Runes vs. purchased Runes#

Only earned Runes — Runes received by your account as creator revenue from player spending — are eligible for exchange. Runes you have personally purchased are not eligible and cannot be converted into a payout. Your creator dashboard clearly separates your purchased balance from your earned balance so there is no ambiguity about what is eligible.

Eligibility requirements#

To participate in the Developer Exchange, your account must meet all of the following requirements before your first payout can be processed. These requirements must remain satisfied on an ongoing basis for continued participation.

1. Minimum earned Rune balance#

Your eligible earned balance must be at least 50,000 Runes at the time of your withdrawal request. Balances below this threshold cannot be converted. There is no way to combine multiple accounts to meet the minimum — the balance must exist within a single creator account.

2. Verified email address#

Your Asterune account must have a verified email address on file. If your email is unverified, you will be prompted to complete verification before proceeding. You can trigger a new verification email from Settings → Security → Email.

3. Verified identity (KYC)#

You must complete identity verification through our KYC (Know Your Customer) process before any payout can be issued. This is a firm requirement with no exceptions — it applies regardless of your country of residence, payout amount, or account history. Identity verification for the Developer Exchange is carried out via Stripe Identity and may require:

• A valid, government-issued photo ID document (passport, national identity card, or driver's licence)
• A selfie or liveness check to confirm the ID belongs to you
• Proof of address (such as a utility bill or bank statement dated within the last 90 days)
• Tax identification information, where required by your country of residence

The KYC process is initiated directly from the Developer Exchange section of your creator dashboard. Once verified, you will not need to repeat this step unless your information changes materially or a re-verification is triggered by our compliance systems.

4. AML compliance#

In addition to identity verification, the Developer Exchange is subject to anti-money laundering (AML) screening. This is a standard requirement for platforms facilitating real-money payouts. As part of onboarding and on an ongoing basis, we may:

• Screen your name and identity against international sanctions lists and watchlists
• Review the sources and patterns of your earned Rune balance for signs of manipulation or fraud
• Request additional documentation if unusual activity is detected

AML screening is handled in conjunction with the KYC process and does not typically require any additional action on your part unless a flag is raised. If your account is flagged during screening, our team will contact you directly with next steps.

5. Account in good standing#

Your account must be in good standing with Asterune's Community Guidelines and Terms of Service at the time of your request and at the time of payout processing. Specifically:

• Your account must not be under active investigation or suspension
• You must not have any unresolved violations of our Community Guidelines
• Your account must not have outstanding chargebacks, disputed transactions, or unpaid fees owed to Solarius
• You must not be found to have artificially inflated your earned Rune balance through exploits, self-purchasing, coordinated manipulation, or any other means that violates our terms

If your account falls out of good standing after your KYC is approved but before a payout is processed, we reserve the right to hold or cancel the pending payout pending resolution of the issue.

How to request a payout#

Once you meet all eligibility requirements, you can request a payout from your creator dashboard:

1. Go to Creator Dashboard → Developer Exchange
2. If you have not completed KYC, you will be guided through the verification flow at this step
3. Once verified and eligible, enter the amount of Runes you wish to convert (minimum 50,000)
4. Select or add your payout method (see below)
5. Review the payout summary, including the exchange rate and estimated amount, and confirm your request
6. Your request will enter the review queue. You will receive an email confirmation when it is submitted and another when it is approved and processed

Payout methods#

Payouts are issued in USD. Depending on your country of residence, the following payout methods may be available:

• Bank transfer (ACH or international wire) — available for most countries. Processing times vary by region
• Stripe-connected payouts — where available in your country, payouts may be sent directly to a Stripe-connected bank account

Payout method availability is determined during the KYC and onboarding process. We will confirm which options are available to you before you submit your first request.

Payouts are not available to accounts registered in countries subject to applicable international sanctions or export restrictions, or in jurisdictions where Solarius is legally prohibited from making payments.

Processing times and fees#

Payout requests are reviewed within 5–10 business days of submission. Most requests are processed without requiring additional information, but complex cases — including first-time payouts, large amounts, or accounts that trigger additional compliance review — may take longer. We will communicate with you if your request requires more time.

Once approved, funds are typically received within 3–7 business days depending on your payout method and financial institution.

Solarius does not charge a fee to use the Developer Exchange. However, your bank or payment provider may apply receiving fees for international transfers. These fees are not controlled by or visible to Solarius, and you should check with your institution before submitting a large payout request.

Taxes#

Payouts from the Developer Exchange may be subject to income tax in your country of residence. Solarius does not withhold taxes on your behalf, except where required to do so by applicable law.

Where legally required — for example, for US-based creators meeting the relevant IRS thresholds — we will issue appropriate tax documentation (such as a 1099 form). You may be asked to provide a completed tax form (such as a W-9 for US creators or a W-8BEN for non-US creators) as part of the KYC process.

You are responsible for understanding and meeting your own tax obligations. If you are unsure of your obligations, we recommend consulting a tax professional in your country.

Important limitations#

Purchased Runes are not eligible. Only Runes received as creator revenue from player spending qualify for exchange. Purchased Runes in your account cannot be converted and are excluded from your eligible balance automatically.

The exchange rate is fixed. The rate of $0.0020 per Rune is not negotiable and does not vary based on payout size, creator tier, or any other factor.

Payouts are in USD. If your bank account is in another currency, your financial institution will apply its own conversion rate when the funds arrive.

Balances are not guaranteed. Runes in your earned balance are not a debt owed to you until a payout is approved. In cases of account termination for serious violations of our Terms of Service, earned balances may be forfeited. See Section 8.3 of the Terms of Service for details.

The Developer Exchange is not available to minors. Because the program involves real-money payouts and requires binding financial and tax agreements, you must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, if higher) to participate.
